Subrogation bill law

Health insurance companies accept premiums in return for the risk of your future injury. Insurance companies don’t return your premiums if for any given month you don’t need health care. And that is fair, as long as they pay your claims for months that your do need health care. If you are injured in a car wreck or other accident, health insurance companies must pay your medical bills. But buried in the fine print of many health insurance policies are subrogation clauses. Those clauses provide that health insurance companies get paid back from the settlement or judgment proceeds from an injury claim.
